Webinar Details

Amazingly, during his first two weeks in office, President Trump issued a slew of executive orders.  While most of the orders – on their face – only apply to the federal government, there is a trickle-down effect to employers. In this webinar, you will learn about the executive orders that have this trickle-down effect and courts’ reaction to the orders.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?

Executive orders are a pretty powerful thing.  They are often used in the last days of a presidency.  Trump did the opposite – he issued a very high number of executive orders. Many believe that the orders do not affect employers – after they only mention the federal government.  But with anything, there are consequences to one’s actions, and the executive orders are no exception.  Shutting down DEI efforts in the federal government shouldn’t mean anything to anyone outside of the federal government.  The shutting down of these efforts will have a trickle-down effect to private employers.  In this webinar, you will learn about all of the Executive Orders that impact private employers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Why the shutting down of DEI efforts on a federal level impacts private employers
  • Courts’ responses to the shutting down of DEI efforts
  • How do we define sex and gender for purposes of Title VII?
  • The Department of Labor’s response to the executive order related to artificial intelligence
  • The impact on the elimination of affirmative action
  • The Department of Labor’s response to the elimination of affirmative action
  • Increased immigration enforcement
  • Revocation of Nondisplacement of Qualified Workers under Service Contracts
  • The courts’ reaction to the Executive Orders
